Tab Washers
Tab washers or sometimes referred to as tab lock washers, are designed to securely hold parts in place. The internal or external tab(s) can be bent over mating parts like bolts and nuts to create a physical lock, thereby preventing the assembly from becoming loose. The internal or external tab(s) can also fit onto shafts or be placed into notches to keep parts from rotating. Tab washers are especially useful in critical applications and with heavy equipment where vibrations or movement could cause the bolt and nut to loosen.
