Shim Washers

Unlike most flat washers that are designed to distribute loads, shim flat washers are used to set clearances, adjust heights, or fill gaps in assemblies. Shim washers are traditionally made from thin materials, but they can be supplied in almost any thicknesses required. Willie Washer supplies shim flat washers in thicknesses ranging from .002″ to over 0.500″.

Shim Washer Applications

Shim washers are engineered to help you position and modify spacing between fasteners. This type of washer is typically utilized to create tight connections around shafts and can even be integrated into the threads of large and small screws to increase the shoulder length. Shim washers are often used for machinery alignment, construction, and precision instruments.
